Brebeuf’s Annual Food Drive
March 13, 2018
Brebeuf’s annual Lenten food drive, which takes place from February 14th up until March 29th, is a drive where students and faculty all over the school bring in nonperishable goods for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, and the students compete with other homerooms to potentially win a pizza party.
St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry serves those in poverty in Marion County. The nonprofit organization provides food, clothing, beds, and appliances, and feeds around 3,300 families and around 12,000 individuals each week. By bringing in nonperishable goods, students are assisting families in need that live in our own community. This simple gesture can make a huge difference to the people who the food pantry feeds.
Brebeuf is asking each member of the Brebeuf community to bring in at least twenty cans. We are hoping once again to fill two semi trucks, and maybe have a record number of cans! Cans are collected during the homeroom period on every day one, and they are collected at the front desk in the main lobby at any time. So far, hundreds of cans have already been collected, but we still need students to contribute their part! The winning class who brings in the most cans is awarded a pizza party. Bring in cans to help feed the impoverished in the incentive of a pizza party!
