Drake Album Review

Hit Rap artist Drake, AKA Drizzy, has dropped yet another album: For All The Dogs. Drake dropped his sixth album on October 6th, 2023, including many famous artists such as J Cole, Yeat, SZA, 21 Savage, Sexxy Red, Lil Yachty, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Teezo Touchdown, and PARTYNEXTDOOR.

Sally Griswold ‘25 said that the album was a little bit disappointing the first time she heard it. Griswold used the word “anticipation” highlighting how she was almost a little too excited for the album to drop.

Griswold described the album as different from most because most of the songs were much more mellow and a slow listen. Drake’s previous albums have had a lot more fast rap songs than this new one.

The feature songs on the album were a very popular listen according to Griswold but the best one was IDGAF featuring Lil Yeat. Griswold also mentioned how Frank Ocean came into the beginning of one of the songs as a sample and that was a very exciting part of the album.

Evan Haywood ’24 had a lot of positive insight on the new album. Haywood started by highlighting that Drake is indeed a very unique rapper. Haywood said, “He has the ability to switch tempo which really sets him apart from other rappers”.

Haywood also added that this album was definitely a “must listen.” Similarly to Sally, Haywood really enjoyed the feature songs because he thought they were the most exciting ones to listen to. Haywood mentioned that his favorite feature was also IDGAF and also included how good Yeat was in this song.

However, Haywood did bring up that the only let down of the album was the fake news that spiraled about when it was going to drop. He said he would get excited about the album, but would then get teased about when it was going to be released.
