Following last year’s hit of the Brebeuf’s 32 person fantasy football league, Inside Prep has decided to continue the league this year. This year the league will follow the same format as it did last year. The league will consist of 32 teams grouped into 8 divisions.
The league will be hosting its draft on September 3rd at 7:30pm. During the draft, 32 teams will pick their players in a snake format. An interesting dynamic within 32 player leagues is how deep the draft will go. Since there are a finite number of players and nearly 400 picks, the draft consists of players that may not play at all near the end rounds.
Similar to last year, the league will follow the same format for starters, point values, and positional premiums. There will be six starting players for each team and five bench positions. The starting positions include one running back, one wide receiver, three flex positions (tight end, wide receiver, and running back) and one superflex position (tight end, wide receiver, running back, and Quarterback). Once again, there will be a tight end premium by providing double the points per reception for tight ends.
When asked about why he likes leagues as deep as 32 players, Austin Braun, a sophomore that is taking part in the league, commented, “I like it because you’re gonna get a lot different types of players on your teams, from a star player to a player that may not be starting.” Braun’s point includes a characteristic of 32 man leagues that is not found in more basic leagues due to the number of people. Leagues such as a 32 person can create a fantasy football experience that is much different than the typical league.
The differences between most leagues and a 32 person can provide benefits to the manager if they wish to learn more about fantasy football and various players. When asked what he thought would be different in taking part in a 32 man league, Nate Hutchinson, a sophomore who enjoys playing fantasy football, explained, “I think it would be like, you get to know more players that you usually don’t pick because they are so out of the blue.” Hutchinson’s statement is true for most leagues that are that large like our Inside Prep League. Joining the league can help manager’s learn of players they would have never usually considered and dig deep through the depth charts for possible stars.
So, whether one is a fantasy expert or this is their first time playing, our Inside Prep 32 person league is a great place to start. To reach out and join this league please reach out to the Inside Prep Instagram account or email Jack Hamilton at [email protected].
