Described as “Indiana’s Nicest Day,” the Penrod Society’s 57th Annual Penrod Arts Fair and 11th Annual Evening with Penrod are back at Newfields on Sept. 6-7! Now the largest single-day arts fair in the country, this year’s art fair features more than 350 artists from across the country, hundreds of performers across five stages of entertainment, an extensive children’s area, and more. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of food and beverages from dozens of local vendors with expanded culinary experiences this year.
The Penrod Society is an “all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting a broad array of arts, cultural and educational activities and institutions throughout central Indiana”. Its core mission is to provide philanthropic service to the community, specifically underrepresented and underserved arts communities within central Indiana.
On the night before the fair, the gala-styled Evening with Penrod will take place for 21+ attendees to get an exclusive preview and first opportunity to purchase art that will be featured at the fair. New this year, there will be a designated VIP area and fireworks, along with a wide assortment of local food and beverages, unique live art experiences, and a series of musical performances.
Evening with Penrod is from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 (Evening with Penrod tickets available here), and the ticket will grant admission to the fair the following day. A ticket for an Evening with Penrod is priced at $175 and can be found on the Newfields website.
The Penrod Arts Fair is open to all ages and takes place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 7. General admission tickets can be found on the Newfields website and are priced in the $15-$20 range.
Both events will be held in the gardens of Newfields, located at 4000 N. Michigan Rd., Indianapolis.
Attending “Indiana’s Nicest Day” is a perfect way to support the community and explore the talents that artists and performers from around the country have to offer!
