Every year, Brebeuf hosts a pumpkin decorating contest to celebrate Halloween and the festivities surrounding the holiday. Held by the Mothers Association and Office of Student Activities, the pumpkin decorating contest
While the contest has always been open to staff, Brebeuf decided to open the competition to students this year. As a result, 7 pumpkins were submitted into the competition.
The Mother’s Association was extremely generous with their prizes for the top three vote-getters. The prizes include: $25 Starbucks gift card for third place, $50 Chipotle gift card for second place and a $100 Chick-Fil-A gift card for the winner of the competition.
The judging took place on Friday, October 25, with the winner being announced on Tuesday, October 29th.
The winners are as follows: Samana Hassan for “brains” in third place, Kailey Puckett for “Oscar the grouch” in second place, and Maya Callahan for “Pennywise” in first place.
Some of the other pumpkins included an owl in the night, a jack-o-lantern, a fall Snoopy and an instant cup of noodles.
