Every year, the Grammys manage to spark debates amongst millions of fans across the world. Attendance, red carpet looks, performances, and awards creates insightful conversations amongst music listeners every year. The 2025 Grammys did not fall short of the award ceremony’s typical success.
The 67th annual Grammy Awards were hosted on February 2nd, 2025 in Los Angeles. Due to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles, a great deal of the award ceremony was dedicated to California. Celebrities were showing their support for everyone affected by the wildfires, many even performing songs as a tribute to the state.
Comedian Trevor Noah once again hosted the Grammys for his fifth year in a row. Well liked amongst the music community, Noah is becoming a cornerstone of this award show.
Some of the most famous awards that are given out every year include Best Pop Vocal Album, Record of the year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and Album of the Year.
The ceremony began with awarding Best Pop Vocal Album. This award was stacked with outstanding nominations for this award after several releases this summer from some of the top pop artists. Nominations included “Short n’ Sweet” by Sabrina Carpenter, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” by Billie Eilish, “eternal sunshine” by Ariana Grande, “The Tortured Poets Department” by Taylor Swift, and “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” by Chappell Roan.
Ultimately, Best Pop Vocal Album was awarded to Sabrina Carpenter, for her album “Short n’ Sweet.” Fans were overall happy with this choice, especially after seeing Carpenter’s astonishing Grammys performance in which she sang her top hits “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

Kendrick Lamar sure had a successful night, sweeping Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his hit song, “Not Like Us.” This was another deserved win, as this song has over 96 million streams in its first week, setting a record for the most streams a song has gotten in a week.

Chappell Roan received the Best New Artist award. Her release of “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” allowed her to reach new heights this summer. For instance, Roan’s performance at Lollapalooza broke an attendance record for the largest day crowd ever seen in the event’s history.
Perhaps the most controversial awards of the 2025 Grammys went to Beyoncé. The release of “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé’s first ever country album, secured her not only Best Country Album, but also Album of the Year. Fans were not pleased with this choice, especially for Album of the Year, believing artists such as Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish were more deserving, considering their albums were much more popular, getting thousands of more streams.
While not everyone may be happy with Grammy award winners, the Grammys continues to be one of the most popular award ceremonies that music fanatics look forward to every year.
