As the fall season approaches, students and teachers are ready for their fall traditions, and most importantly, fall break. Fall is the season of leaves changing colors and the air getting colder which springs the tendency to get cozy and bring out those fall decorations.  Rayven Ashworth, the Director of School Counseling plans, to go to Scottsdale, Arizona this fall break. If she was at home during break, her day would start by taking her kids to daycare, running errands, and working out.

She would also binge TV shows, scroll through tiktok, and cook. Mrs. Ashworth loves to cook chili and anything “pumpkin” during fall. Her favorite shows to watch during fall are The Office, The Masked Singer, and Shark Tank which comes out on September 29.  For the students that aren’t going places for Fall break, Ashworth recommends that they take time to relax and do activities to occupy them, but also reflect on what went well during 1st quarter.

Sarah O’Keefe, English department chair and yearbook advisor, also agrees that students should take some time during fall break to prepare for the 2nd quarter so that they can succeed. Mrs. O’Keefe plans to go to Hilton Head, South Carolina for fall break this year. If she were staying at home she would keep her kids entertained by taking them to the pumpkin patch and the apple orchard. O’Keefe’s favorite fall foods are Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter and pumpkin pancakes.

Her favorite fall movie is Hocus Pocus, and her favorite fall show is Gilmore Girls. Mrs. O’Keefe prefers Thanksgiving over Halloween because she loves seeing her family and hosting them. She also loves Halloween because everyone in her neighborhood goes all out, and there are many things for adults to do as well as kids.

Lila Weeter, class of 2027, loves having fall break because it allows her time to get rid of all the stress from 1st quarter. Although she wishes break would be longer than a week, she likes that she doesn’t have to worry about homework assignments from her classes and that she doesn’t have to worry about school or club soccer.

Weeter isn’t planning on going anywhere over break but if she was she would like to visit the Bahamas so she can get tan before winter. While at home, she plans to sleep in, watch lots of Marvel movies, bake chocolate chip cookies, and make pumpkin bread.
