As 2015 NFL season is kicking off, fans will see many new faces on the Colts roster. Many of these will be key contributors to a potential Super Bowl season. The Colts have added eight key rookies and a couple of big free agents this offseason that were able to make the roster.

As far as rookies go, the Colts first round pick was Phillip Dorsett, who is a receiver out of Miami University. He provides a lot of speed and explosiveness in the slot receiver position. Many analysts have compared him to T.Y Hilton, who is a current star receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. Getting him adds depth to a receiving core that is already stacked with talent. D’joun Smith out of Florida Atlantic University, drafted in the third round by the Colts, should be a factor for the Colts. He was looked at as a shutdown corner in college and the Colts drafted him in hopes that he can help with defense, which really struggled in the 2014 season.

Along with the eight rookies the Colts drafted, they also invested in two big time free agents in Andre Johnson and Frank Gore. Andre Johnson, a star receiver, brings a lot of big play capability and experience. Johnson previously played for the rival Houston Texans. He has played in 169 games throughout his career, also recording 1,012 receptions, 13,597 yards and scoring sixty-four touchdowns throughout his 12 year career.

Lastly, Frank Gore, the star running back who made his career in San Francisco, brings explosiveness, power, and experience to the runningback core in Indianapolis. In Frank Gore’s ten years in the NFL he has accumulated 11,073 yards, 2,442 attempts and sixty-four touchdowns.

Now that the Colts have picked up these two really big free agents, there has been a lot of talk about a potential Super Bowl run in the air, raising the expectations of the players and coaches in the 2015-2016 season.
